About Me


Isabela Medina-Maté is a Latinx/Colombian documentary filmmaker, podcaster and comic. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia where she received a Bachelors in Cinematography and Foreign Affairs and a Masters in Public Policy. Before transitioning to Documentary film, she worked at the United Nations Humanitarian Affairs department. Isabela began her journey into documentary film at Oscar, Grammy and Emmy-award winning documentary production company, Tremolo Productions, as Executive Assistant to Morgan Neville. For over a year, she directly assisted Morgan and all Tremolo executives, tackled production needs as they came up, and conducted creative and development research on feature and docuseries projects for Netflix, CNN, HBO, Showtime, Apple+, and more.

Isabela is currently freelancing as an Associate Producer in documentary, most recently on a documentary-style short series covering musical artists for Amazon Latin Music. Every week, Isabela Produces, co-hosts and edits the CAA repped podcast Sounds Like A Cult. Isabela also produces a monthly stand-up comedy show at West Hollywood landmark Formosa Cafe, booking comics seen on HBO Max, Netflix, Comedy Central, Amazon Prime, Showtime and more.
